SERVE - Project Conference, Measuring the Impacts of Sustainable Energy Projects
The SERVE Project, which started in Nov. 2007, is focused on the creation of a region which demonstrates best practice in the field of sustainable energy. The SERVE region in North Tipperary with a population of 12,000 people supported energy upgrades in 400 buildings, facilitated the installation of a wide range of renewable energy systems, developed biomass heating systems and supported the development of the Eco Village in Cloughjordan.

Strategic Energy Technology Plan Conference 2011 under the Polish Presidency of the EU Council
The fifth conference on the European Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET-Plan) will be organised by the National Contact Point for the Research Programmes and the European Commission in close collaboration with the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Ministry of Economy. At this high-profile event representatives of industry, research, financing and policy will discuss the financing and swift development of the key low-carbon energy technologies identified in the SET-Plan.

The IRES is the central platform for sharing knowledge and exchanging ideas on one of the key issues concerning future energy supplies. The event brings together relevant stakeholders from the energy storage industry, including: both the renewable and conventional energy industries; grid operators and utilities; players from the hybrid and electric vehicle sector; the building industry; finance; R&D and politics. This year the event will feature around 100 expert speakers from 20 countries.

The European Offshore Wind Conference and Exhibition is organised once every two years by the European Wind Energy Association. The SERVE Project has successfully completed the upgrading of approx. 400 buildings in the SERVE region and has supported the development of the Eco Village in Cloughjordan. Energy savings and renewable energy production have been key focuses of the project. The SERVE Seminar Series is part of an information and training programme which the project is running to present the findings and lessons learned from the project. Seminar 1: "Using Wood as a Fuel"

The aim of the seminar is to provide participants with an overview of the EU’s energy efficiency policy, the lessons to be learnt from the first round of national energy efficiency plans, national best-practice examples, funding mechanisms from the EIB and the European Commission, energy efficiency initiatives from the private sector, etc.
