Solarna elektrana Kukuljanovo


 

Tvrtka Adria Sol iz Kukuljanova, nedaleko Rijeke, izgradila je na krovu pogona za preradu soli u Industrijskoj zoni Kukuljanovo do sada najveću solarnu elektranu u Hrvatskoj, ukupne snage 283 kWp.


Objekt na čijem krovu se nalazi ovaj fotonaponski sustav u vlasništvu je grupe Ma.Co.T. s kojom je Adria Sol vlasnički povezana.
MA.CO.T. je započeo s radom 1992 godine, te se tijekom posljednih 15-ak godina profilirao u tvrtku koju poznaju i prepoznaju kao jednoga od glavnih dobavljača soli u Republici Hrvatskoj te u susjednim zemljama.
Sjedište tvrtke je u Industrijskoj zoni Kukuljanovo u zaleđu Rijeke u neposrednoj blizini luka Rijeka i Bakar, autoceste Rijeka Zagreb te čvorišta prema Splitu. Krajem 2005. otvoren je naš nov distribucijski centar u čijem sklopu je i skladište soli zatvorenog tipa površine 3.000 m2.       
Karakteristike Solarne elektrane Kukuljanovo:
 Ukupna investicija prelazi 500 tisuća eura, a povrat investicije očekuje se nakon 6 godina. Svu proizvedenu električnu energiju elektrana predaje u elektroenergetsku mrežu. Očekivana godišnja proizvodnja iznosi više od 300 tisuća kWh, što bi, primjerice, bilo dovoljno za opskrbu oko 100 kućanstava električnom energijom.

Osim ovog projekta Adria Sol instalirala je još veću solarnu elektranu (315 kWp) u Gospodarskoj zoni Čaporice, nedaleko Trilja, također na krovu u vlasništvu grupe Ma.Co.T. te se uskoro očekuje puštanje u rad, odnosno priključak na elektroenergetsku mrežu. Za gradnju Solarne elektrane Čaporice korištena je ista tehnologija i oprema kao i za Solarnu elektranu Kukuljanovo. Administrativna procedura potrebna za realizaciju ovih projekata trajala je skoro godinu dana.

Nadalje, Adria Sol planira i skori završetak nekoliko manjih solarnih elektrana na krovovima obiteljskih kuća.

Očekivana godišnja proizvodnja: oko 300.000 kWh
Prinos prema mikrolokaciji elektrane: 1080 kWh/kWp
Solarni paneli: Day4Energy 235 W, polikristalni, 1204 komada
Izmjenjivači: Fronius CL 60kW, 4 komada
Smanjena emisija CO2: oko 150 tona/god.
Krovna površina koju elektrana zauzima:  2000 m2

 Iz tvrtke napominju da je administrativna procedura potrebna za realizaciju ovih projekata trajala skoro godinu dana, te dodaju kako bi bilo korisno za hrvatsko gospodarstvo da se administrativna procedura ubrza te da traje maksimalno par mjeseci, kao što je slučaj u EU. Iz Adria Sol-a najavljuju i skori završetak nekoliko manjih solarnih elektrana na krovovima obiteljskih kuća, prenosi Hina.

Solar fields generate clean, carbon-free, renewable energy from an endless resource. They contribute to a more sustainable and ecologically sound power generation landscape. However, like any other power generation project, solar fields are, first and foremost, expected to perform at maximum levels and generate revenue. The SunField LP package also includes important planning elements, including solar field design and engineering and design coordination. In addition, Siemens also offers power plant operations and maintenance services to help maximize the operational integrity of the SunField LP.

The basic component of the SunField LP solar field is the Siemens solar collector assemblies (SCA), a metal parabolic framework designed to hold the receiver and reflector panels in place and keep them perfectly aligned.

Line-based production for all components and processes, rather than the project-based approach employed by other providers, helps provide the Siemens SCA with the high accuracies necessary for optimal electricity production,and can enable fast and simple assembly and installation.

The SCA includes the latest advances in high torsion stiffness, vibration damping, high stiffness against bending, and corrosion resistance. These advances are important for consistent maximum optical efficiency. A hydraulic drive pylon and control system enable the SCA to precisely track the sun over the entire course of the day.

The parabolic reflector panels are made up of hot-formed mirrored glass panels supported by a truss system that gives the solar collector assembly its structural strength. To increase the transmissivity for solar radiation, the reflecting panels with their silver-based mirror coating are made of special glass with a particularly low iron content. The UVAC 2010 is designed for extremely low heat loss and high transmissivity. It is characterized by its superior thermal efficiency, which helps significantly increase the electrical output of a solar power plant. Its optical and thermal properties provide for outstanding heat creation compared to other available receivers.

The UVAC 2010 is composed of a selectively coated stainless steel tube within an anti-reflective evacuated glass tube. The UVAC 2010 includes Siemens’ patented vacuum maintenance unit and the anti-”fluorescent phenomenon” coating, designed to provide stable performance over time, even under extreme conditions.

A specially designed, advanced field control system assures the efficient collection of solar radiation. At the core of this system is a specialized sun position sensor. It enables precise tracking and focus of the sun’s rays onto the UVAC, and periodically sends commands to a drive system designed to position the SCA for optimal effect. The control system consists of local microprocessor controllers on each SCA and a field supervisory controller in the central control building, where the operators monitor the status of each SCA and all operational values, including solar insolation, wind velocity and HTF temperature. Siemens has designed a complex solar field operational model to complement the SunField LP. The model simulates the operating modes of the solar field, uses meteorological data to perform a heat balance calculation at certain time intervals throughout the year, and provides a calculated estimate of potential output over the lifetime of the power plant. Optical interaction factors, transient conditions, start-ups and changing weather conditions are all taken into consideration. The results are provided in terms of yearly and hourly values, and are verified and calibrated on the basis of results from various plants in operation.

Our goal is to rapidly increase the shift from fossil fuels to clean, renewable energy. Our strategy is to create awareness of and build support for ‘the world’s most effective renewable energy policies’—Feed-In Tariffs (FITs).

J-POWER can look back on a proud history spanning over half a century as an electric power wholesaler with a proven track record of reliable, low-cost power supply. The nationwide network of power transmission trunk lines we have built and operate has made a significant contribution to Japan’s economic development and the improvement of living standards in Japan. In October 2004, we were listed on the First Section of Tokyo Stock Exchange and this completed our transformation to a private sector company in all aspects.

Our performance records as of July 2009 show that we have built and operate 67 power plants with a total output capacity of 16,985 megawatts and a transmission network of about 2,400 kilometers of power lines.

As part of our international commitment, since 1960 we have carried out 300 consulting service projects with 63 countries and regions mainly from the developing world. This has included surveying, design and construction supervision of hydroelectric and thermal power development as well as electric power consulting relating to environment protection measures. SOLAR SERDAR & U.S. GREEN BUILDING COUNCIL

SOLAR SERDAR & USGBC URGES SENATE TO PASS COMPREHENSIVE CLIMATE AND ENERGY POLICY
As the Senate takes up climate and energy legislation this year, the U.S. Green Building Council & SOLAR SERDAR urges Members to pass a comprehensive bill that will move us away from dependence on fossil fuels and toward a clean energy future.

GREEN BUILDINGS FOR CLIMATE PROTECTION
Buildings are part of the solution. While accounting for nearly 40% of our country’s carbon footprint, the building sector also serves as a low-cost, high-return investment strategy to reduce energy consumption and associated emissions, yet their potential remains largely untapped. McKinsey and Company estimates that increased efficiency would save the U.S. economy $130 billion per year, while reducing emissions by 1.1 gigatons a year. Moreover, programs dedicated to spur the retrofit of old, inefficient homes and buildings will create jobs and save consumers money.

For these reasons, USGBC & SOLAR SERDAR strongly urges the inclusion of the following measures in climate and energy legislation; most of which have significant bipartisan support:

EXISTING BUILDING RETROFITS. A residential and commercial green retrofit program, such as the Retrofit for Energy Efficiency Program (REEP) included in the Clean Jobs and American Power Act (S. 1733), or a combination of the Home Star Energy Retrofit Act of 2010 (S. 3434) and the Building Star Energy Efficiency Act of 2010 (S. 3079). These programs are estimated to create over 300,000 jobs over two years.

IMPROVED BUILDING CODES. A program to strengthen and enforce building energy codes, with efficiency targets that build upon those in the American Clean Energy Leadership Act (ACELA) and are increased incrementally over time. The adoption of codes with higher energy efficiency targets has the potential to save building owners in the U.S. over $4 billion per year in 2015, according to DOE.

ENERGY PERFORMANCE DISCLOSURE. The creation of a national, voluntary program for effective benchmarking and disclosure of building energy performance for a diverse set of building types, such as what is already included in ACELA . In order to impact the 125 million existing buildings in America, the labeling program implementation should apply to existing building stock as well as new construction.

WATER EFFICIENCY. Authorization of a national program such as WaterSense to identify and promote water-efficient devices; authorization of federal procurement of such devises; and state incentive programs as described in S. 1733. According to the EPA, if one out of every 100 homes in the U.S. were retrofitted with water-efficient fixtures, we could save 100 million kWh of electricity per year—the GHG reduction equivalent of removing nearly 15,000 automobiles from the road.
Furthermore, legislation should contain aggressive national goals and funding for complimentary measures that 1) unlock efficiency and clean power such as an Energy Efficiency Resource Standard and a Renewable Electricity Standard; 2) reduce oil consumption, by promoting transportation efficiency and transit-orientated development; and 3) facilitate global emission reductions through international clean energy deployment and technology cooperation for developing countries.

How your power plant works.

1. Modules
SOLON photovoltaic modules consist of several interconnected solar cells made of the semiconductor silicon, which have a poly- or monocrystalline structure depending on the production technique used. A solar cell’s silicon is doped differently on the front and rear sides to create one positive and one negative charge carrier surplus, producing an electrical potential at the junction of the two differently doped layers. When sunlight strikes the solar cells, the silicon begins conducting and voltage is generated across the cells’ metal contacts, creating direct current.

2. Inverter
Direct current created in the solar cells cannot be fed directly into the public grid: an inverter converts direct current into 230-volt alternating current so that it can be used normally.

3. Export meter
You can use the produced energy in your own home or feed it inot the grid. Grid-connected plants require an export meter that measures the energy fed into the grid in kilowatt hours (kWh).

4. Public grid
The alternating current created and fed into the public grid can then be used by all consumers.

What does a solar power system consist of?
The base unit of a PV system is the solar module. Several modules are connected to a solar generator. What is a module made of?
The main components of the modules are the solar cells. Several of these cells are combined into one module. The module is then laminated in a plastic layer and framed between a glass cover plate and a rear panel.
What steps are involved in the value creation chain for module creation?
Silicon raw material is derived from silicon-rich rock (e.g. sand). The silicon is melted to form blocks known as ingots. The ingots are then cut into paper-thin discs called wafers. The wafers are then used to make solar cells that form the main constituent of module production.
What kinds of PV systems are there?
In general, there are two different kinds of systems:
1. Structure

We can predict that this will have significant political, economical, and ecological consequences. Solar energy can be an efficient instrument to counteract this alarming development.
Over 95 % of today’s solar cells consist of the semiconductor material silicon. Semiconductors are materials whose electrical conductivity increases with the influx of light or heat.

For the production of solar cells, the silicon is doped. For this purpose, other chemical elements are added, either creating an electron surplus (n-conductive layer) or an electron deficit (p-conductive layer). If two differently doped semiconductor areas convene, a so-called space charge zone is created at the boundary layer (p-n transition).

In order to achieve the desired effect, the initial material is normally lightly p-doped and a thin surface layer heavily n-doped. This creates the space charge zone required for separating charge carriers.

The front contact is a metallic mesh, enabling the sunlight to penetrate the silicon between the contacts. Moreover, solar cells are coated with an anti-reflection layer, serving to protect the cell and to reduce energy loss resulting from reflection. This layer gives the solar cells their typical bluish black appearance.

How a PV cell makes electricity

Under the sun, a photovoltaic cell acts as a photosensitive diode that instantaneously converts light – but not heat – into electricity.

Cell Layers

A top, phosphorus-diffused silicon layer carries free electrons – unanchored particles with negative charges. A thicker, borondoped bottom layer contains holes, or absences of electrons, that also can move reely. In effect, precise manufacturing has instilled an electronic imbalance between the two layers.

Sun Activation

Photons bombard and penetrate the cell.
They activate electrons, knocking them loose in both silicon layers.
Some electrons in the bottom layer sling-shot to the top of the cell.
These electrons flow into metal contacts as electricity, moving into a circuit throughout a 60-cell module.
Electrons flow back into the cell via a solid contact layer at the bottom, creating a closed loop or circuit.
SolarWorld manufacturers solar panels entirely in the USA from raw silicon to completed solar panels. This process involves four main steps: crystal growing, wafering, solar cell production and solar panel assembly. Learn about each of the four steps below.

SolarWorld heats and melts polysilicon rock until it forms a whitehot liquid, then re-fuses the molten silicon into a single giant crystal in which all atoms are perfectly aligned in a desired structure and orientation.

Charging

The magic starts with about 250 pounds of polysilicon rocks carefully stacked in a quartz crucible. The only other ingredient is a silicon disk impregnated with a tiny amount of boron. The addition of the oron dopant ensures that the resulting crystal will bear a positive potential electrical orientation. The crucible is encased within thick walls of insulating graphite and locked inside a cylindrical furnace.More info at solarserdar@gmail.com.





Melting

As the crystal-growing furnace heats up to temperatures ranging around 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit, its silicon contents melt into a shimmering slurry. Once computerized monitors register the right temperature and atmospheric conditions, the alchemy begins. A silicon seed crystal, hung from a narrow cable attached to a rotary device atop the furnace, is slowly lowered into the melt.

Growing

The crucible starts to turn, and the seed crystal begins to rotate in the opposite direction. The silicon melt freezes onto the seed crystal, matching the seed’s crystalline structure. The crystal grows, the cable and seed slowly ascend, and the crystal elongates at a controlled width. As the growth depletes the silicon slurry, the crucible also rises.

Cooling

Flash forward about 2.5 days since the crucible was charged with polysilicon: After hours of cooling to about 300 degrees Fahrenheit, the furnace hood and shaft lift away from the crucible encasement, slowly swing to one side and reveal a completed cylindrical crystal, ready to move to the second step and next production room.
A silicon crystal must change shape several times before it winds up as the precisely calibrated wafers that form the foundations of photovoltaic cells.





Cutting

First, a saw cuts off the crystal’s so-called top and tail, so that a crystal of uniform width remains. Typically, wafering saws draw thin wire bearing a liquid abrasive across the crystal’s surface. (Below, a machine mounted with a giant donutlike steel blade does the cutting.) Wire saws also cut the crystal into ingots measuring 2 feet or less. Steel holders are mounted on the ends of these ingots for the next step.



Squaring

Mounted ingots are placed standing on end in a rack bearing 16 at a time inside another wireslicing machine. There, wire running in a lattice configuration descends on the ingots to shear off four rounded segments, leaving flat sides. The result: The ingots now have a square crosssection, except for still-rounded corners.

Slicing

The next wire saw is more intricate yet. A wire winding hundreds of times between two cylindrical drums forms a web of parallel, tightly spaced segments. As the wire unspools through the machine, ingots mounted sideways on glass and metal holders are pressed two at a time through the wire web, slicing them into the thickness of slim business cards. Each millimeter of crystal yields about 21/2 wafers. Detached from their holders, the wafers are loaded into carriers, or boats, for transport to the next step.
Converting wafers into cells

At this point, a wafer is no more capable of producing electricity than a sliver of river rock. The wafer is the main building block of a PV cell, but so far its only notable characteristics are its crystal structure and positive potential orientation. All of that changes in the third, multistep, cell-production phase of PV manufacturing.More info at solarserdar@gmail.com.

Etching

In the only phase requiring a designated clean room, a series of intricate chemical and heat treatments converts the blank, grey wafers into productive, blue cells. A so-called texture etch, for instance, removes a tiny layer of silicon, relying on the underlying crystal structure to reveal an irregular pattern of pyramids. The surface of pyramids – so small they’re invisible to the naked eye – absorbs more light.

Diffusing

Next, wafers are moved in cartridges into long, cylindrical, ovenlike chambers in which phosphorus is diffused into a thin layer of the wafer surface. The molecular-level impregnation occurs as the wafer surface is exposed to phosphorus gas at a high heat, a step that gives the surface a negative potential electrical orientation. The combination of that layer and the boron-doped layer below creates a positive-negative, or P/N, junction – a critical partition in the functioning of a PV cell.

Coloring and Printing

The burgeoning, still-grey cells move in trays into heavy vacuum chambers where blue-purple silicon nitride is deposited onto their tops. The coating with silicon nitride – yet another member of the silicon family of materials – is designed to reduce reflection even further in the energy-dense blue end of the light spectrum. It leaves the cells with their final, dark color. Now, the cells can optimally gather photons and produce electricity. They lack, however, any mechanism to collect and forward the power. So, in a series of silkscreen- like steps, metals are printed on both sides of the cell, adding pin-stripe "fingers" and bus-bar circuitry. A functioning cell is born – only sunshine needed.
Stringing cells into solar panels

Each phase of production depends on processes with flavors all their own. Careful control of heating and cooling dominates crystal growing. Wafering employs abrasion and cutting. Cell production concentrates on chemistry. Any factory process would be incomplete without a final assembly step, and in PV such a step is known as moduling.

Soldering

At SolarWorld, module manufacturing is a highly automated process, relying on robust steel robotics to undertake the increasingly heavy lifting of assembling lightweight PV cells into modules weighing around 45 pounds apiece. Each robotic tool works within a safety fence that, by design, excludes people. First, cells are soldered together into strings of 10, using an over-under-overunder pattern of metal connectors to link the cells. Six strings are laid out to form a rectangular matrix of 60 cells. Each matrix is laminated onto glass.

Framing

To become a module, however, each laminate requires not only a frame to provide protection against weather and other impacts but also a junction box to enable connections among modules or with an inverter-bound conduit. Robots affix those, too.

Careful cleaning and inspection provide final touches before each module can be palletized for delivery to homes and businesses.

Do you have unobstructed space available for your system?
Each kilowatt (kW) of solar contracted will cover approximately 100-150 sq. ft. of area. This can be a roof, parking structure, ground area, etc. If you do not have ample, unshaded, structurally sound area for solar, then your property may not be well-suited for solar.
Do you have any daytime shading issues on your south-facing space?
Trees, neighbors with larger buildings, vents, or other factor that cause shading throughout the day will cause significant decreases to your power production, therefore not making a suitable building for solar.
Will you need to repair or replace your roof in the next 5 years?
If so, then you may want to wait to add your solar system during that time, or consider re-roofing now to add your system.
